【摘要】:Amajorconcernfordetentionandcorrectionaladministrativeofficialsisthereliableoperationofhingesusedintheirfacilities.Thesetestmethodsaidinassigningalevelofphysicalsecurityandperformancetohingesforswingingdoorassemblies.Thesetestmethodsevaluatetheeffectonhingesofbatteringattacksonthedoorsimulatingassaultconditionsaswell.Thesetestmethodsalsoevaluatetheperformanceofahingeundersimulatednormaloperation.Thesetestmethodsdonotprovideameasureoftheresistanceorperformanceofahingetoattackbythefollowing:chemicalagents,ballistics,explosives,orotherextrememethodsofattack,suchasdirectimpactormanipulationonthehingesortoenvironmentalelementssuchasrain,snow,orwind-carrieddustorsand.Wheresuchelementsareapotentialfactor,consultthemanufacturer.Theprimarypurposeofthesetestmethodsistoapproximatethelevelsofabuseconditionsandnormaloperatingconditionstowhichhingesaresubjectedindetentionandcorrectionalinstitutions.Thesetestmethodsattempttodothisthroughthedifferentgradelevelsassociatedwithcycleandimpacttesting.Thedesiredresultofthesetestmethodswillprovideameasureofassuranceofprotectiontothecorrectionalpersonnel,public,andinmates.1.1Thesetestmethodscovertheapparatus,procedures,andacceptanceconditionsforevaluatingthenormaloperatingperformancecharacteristicsandtheperformancecharacteristicsunderassaultconditionsofhingesusedinswingingdoorassembliesindetentionandcorrectionalinstitutions.Thesetypesofhingesaredescribedindetailin,,and.Thus,thesetestmethodsonlygiveanindicationoftheperformancecharacteristicsofhingesinactualservice.Suchvariablesasinstallationandmaintenanceconditionswhichhaveapotentialimpactonperformancecharacteristicsarenotconsidered.1.2Itistheintentofthesetestmethodstohelpensurethatdetentionhinges(referencetohingesisinclusiveofacontinuoushinge)performatoraboveminimumacceptablelevelstoconfineinmates,todelayandfrustrateescapeattempts,andtoresistvandalismandassaultconditions.Itisrecognizedthatinordertomeettheintentofthesetestmethods,door,frameandlockassembliesmustbecompatiblewiththelevelofperformancerequiredbyTestMethodsF1450andF1577.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4ConsultNFPA80forFireDoorsWindowsconcerninghingerequirementsonfiredoors.
